Matz has posted the first preview of Ruby 1.8.1. Lots of little fixes in here from the 1.8 release. This should transition to a 1.8.1 release soon. Tom Copeland mirrored the download of it on RubyForge here.

Looks like many are reporting that one of the Syck extension's header files (yamlbyte.h) was inadvertently left out of this drop, so it might be best to wait for the next preview release...
